PETITION ALERT: Demand Democracy in WVU's presidential selection!
A union of students and student organizations fighting for student power at West Virginia University.
On October 23, 2023, WVUSU and West Virginia Campus Workers came together to respond to WVU President E. Gordon Gee's "State of the University" address. This event saw more attendees than Gee's despite being the first of its kind. Speakers included Matthew Kolb, Lisa DiBartolomeo, and Christiaan Abildso
WVUSU members participated in an hours-long comment period, where dozens of people spoke against administration's recommendations.Â
WVUSU members stood strong in the faces of the BOG and administration while they bulldozed our institution in the name of their faulty vision.
On August 21, 2023, less than a week into the fall semester, WVUSU led hundreds of students, faculty, staff, and other members of our community in a campus walkout. This was the union's first public event, and it made history. Reporters from across the United States flocked to Morgantown to record our story of solidarity and power in the making.
